Spanish clubman

Postby Fireman Ash » Thu Apr 30, 2015 10:25 pm

Hi,
Got a nice original black exhaust from my series 80 Serveta with a short tailpipe, anybody know anything about these, performance, which models were fitted with them?
Got an ancilotti fitted but thinking of refitting as quieter
Cheers all

I have one in the garage. It came off an '83 Lynx 200. Mine is very heavy and I suspect it is badly rusted inside.

What makes you think it is a clubman type exhaust? Mine looks like a standard with a short tailpipe

Thanks Storkfoot, what exhaust would it be then, I assumed that's what a standard exhaust was, or rather it's design?

Ash, I really don't know what the point was. I presume it was tested and they found no tangible difference in performance to one with a longer tailpipe. I suppose it was also easier to fit on the production line

One day I'll cut mine open to see what's going on inside :D

Thanks mate, I'm guessing it may produce a similar performance to a standard exhaust but have seen little info around in any magazines, forums though :)

The one on my old 71 special had a short tail pipe and I seem to remember that weighed a ton too
