Frame and engine numbers

Postby kennystag » Wed May 06, 2015 10:35 pm

Hi can any of you nice people id this frame number and engine number. Do they look as if they have been tampered with? The bike belongs to a friend of mine and he is getting a bit worried. Any help would be appreciated.

Without even looking at the poor stamping etc and the fact the number should be after the model ie li150 177etc and the fact im pretty sure that 177etc is a TV number there's the position of it, ie it appears to be forward of the engine mount in that photo whereas it should be farther back the frame on the bend. ie.

There should also be an IGM number if it's italian

Thanks Donnie,
Sorry mate but I do not understand your reply, is there a problem with the numbers, is it a LI or TV. Yes I did ask before about what it was but sent a pic so you could have a proper look.

Doesn't look like a Spanish stamping either Mickey,

Because of the flash I can't make out what is between the numbers and the 150LI, can someone please say what it is?

Wow that SX 150 stamping is perfect - My Italian GP 150 frame is decent but after a few blasts is not as good as that

Unlike my indian (SIL, API and unknown origin from SR) and spanish frames which leave a bit to be desired .....but are genuine I might add !

I'm not expert on Indian stuff but that looks like the Indian stamping font to me... I'm guessing it's an api series 2 ?

Ah yes Nobby I can actually make it out now, it's API between the numbers and 150LI, so yes it is an Indian API series 2 LI150.

Hi All it has been confirmed as an Indian API LI150 from 1974. Thanks to Rich.
