GP Horncasts

Postby rossclark » Thu Jun 25, 2015 9:59 pm

I have a couple of horncasts for GP. One I know to be original Italian one I have doubts about. The latter one doesn't fit.

The original one has the correct part number (22050086) and some FP casting marks (P1477) in addition to the Innocenti logo at the top.

The other only has the logo, which looks less authentic and the same part number. This doesn't fit. I'd say the hole centres for the screws are about 3-4 mm closer together and if you put it back to back with the genuine one the top corners actually fit inside the original one and the same at the bottom.

I suspect it's Indian or remade.

Is the Indian one known to be narrower or differently shaped?

mine was as you described, took a bit of brute force to get the screws in but fine once fitted.
But 'm not a purist, if it works that's good enough for me.

I'm not a purist either just curious.

It's not just the screws TBH. The curve next the legsheilds isn't close and it seems to sit higher and rub on the under headset. It also catches on the legshield mounting bracket too, very odd.

Try fitting with new Indian legshilds,
Me shield bracket has to fit wrong side of frame bracket
Head set to leggies gap you can adjust your cables thru.still at 75mph no one seems to notice.
