Firstly my apologies if this is a silly question.
I have a Spanish jet 200 frame which I have no paperwork for.
I have spoken to the dvla to find out if it's ever been registered in the UK before but they can't tell me this without filling out a form and charging me £25 for a v5. If it's Spanish then it may have never been registered here and so it could be a waste of money??
has anyone else come across this before or does anyone know how I may find out if it's been registered in the UK before?
Many thanks

You have answered your own question really. DVLA are the only ones who can tell you, but why bother , as said just start again as a first registration.

Thanks rich,
Excuse if it's a bit of a noddy question but I'm just starting my first restoration and finding my feet.
I'm sure there will be many more so I will apologise now in advance!

One thing I will say is , take a rubbing and photo of the frame stamp BEFORE painting or powder coating,

The DVLA are not always helpful when you only have the frame no. If you have a mate in the car trade you could ask him/her to run an HPI check or pay yourself and use a reputable on line company. This may give you the registration number if it is registered with the DVLA. I'm not 100% sure how this works but a while back I was trying to find out about a frame I have and a chap I had bumped into took the frame no and came back to me saying it wasn't registered with the DVLA. When I had written and rang the DVLA they had said they couldn't help and were not interested in the frame no and gave me no advice/help at all. I found that strange because I'm sure they would be if it was stolen. Probably got something to do with the malarkey in 1983 when they went to computers.
