In the spec sheet they show a 5 pin regulator but in the product photograph they show a 3 pin regulator. Check to be sure. Trustworthy dealer though and quick.

Hi Chaps,
Having spoken to Kenny who is looking for an electronic ign for a GP.What he needs to know are the pros and cons of this
https://www.beedspeed.com/lambretta-ele ... j5t5kam5a1
what looks like an ac set up for lights with a d.c output for accessories (satnav or electronic speedo?)
or this:
https://www.beedspeed.com/lambretta-ele ... k225dbeab0
which is a wassell dc set up with battery.
Is the former ac setup just for those without room for a battery? what are the advantages of 12v ac for lights and a dc for accessories?

They are both electronic but the first one is still just ac. The dc part is just really for trickle charging a battery, less than 2volts so takes some time to charge it!
Also, trying to run any instruments off of this is going to be hit and miss frankly and for gods sake dont think you can hook it to the lights and think they will be DC, they're not.

The second version, ie the wassel is the way to go, it'll future proof the scooter for any accessories, lights etc you may want to use and give much better lighting. Ideally you should use it in conjunction with a battery (which will be charged at 14 or so volts, NOT a trickle charge. I believe that instead of a battery there is a way to use a capacitor or similar but think its simpler to just fit the battery.
