Hi all
So I have a issue with the brakes on my 225.
New Scootsrs disc at the front
New hub, new components on rear.
Stationary:-
Rear wheel spins freely, no drag from shoes, stops spinning with light pressure on pedal.Small adjustment on the cable stops the wheel from spinning freely
Front wheel spins freely, no drag, also stops with light lever pressure - tightening up the cable brake adjuster just 1 notch (180 deg) stops the spinning and makes the wheel very stiff.I have also adjusted the pad screw similarly.
On the road:-
Only done about 20 miles so far but the brakes feel very ineffective, hard pressure on the rear at low speeds does not stop the bike, same with the front.
I would say at present it is dangerous to ride in this condition.
I'm a bit mystified, the brakes on my GT186 are much better (drum front) and no problem to set up - stops very well.
Any tips?
Have I missed anything?
Do they need bedding in? if so any method recommended?
