Handlebars - SX

Postby cobby56 » Fri Sep 11, 2015 9:12 am

Just purchased an SX150 and one problem area is the handlebars, they're a badly matched pair and the rims no where near, having had previous experience of trying to match an SX top and bottom I'm looking for other alternatives. This isn't going to be a concourse machine I hasten to add.
Has anyone had any experience of the re made SX items that I've seen advertised for around £180, top. bottom and rim ?

buy direct from Scootrs a lot cheaper , a bit of advice though, do not blast them just rub down . the casting is not the best but the fit of the rim is very good.

I bought a repro pair + rim from Cambridge Lambretta as I wanted to get a bike together quickly and was also finding that old tops, bottoms and rims didn't fit together well and/or needed a lot of repair work (welding, drilling and tapping rim holes... And reworking edge for rim to fit). The Cam one was great, I simply sprayed it, assembled it and fitted it.

For the time and effort it saved, I was very happy to have gone down the well fitting repro route for a bike that I wanted to use. I don't intend to 'show' the bike so will not lose sleep over it not being original factory fitment.
