As well as the special washers that fit into the recesses on the outside of the links, my GP125 has an additional thin washer on the inside of the link between it and the wheel on either side. Can anyone confirm if this is correct, as I can't see this on any parts lists?
They're not original as they are stainless.

There's a thin washer under the axle nuts up against the backplate and top hat usually. Maybe someone fitted them there to stop the links pulling in when the locknuts are tightened, in which case you could put them under the inner nuts.

Lambretta restore have some special washers for the axle that are excellent.
