is there a trick to removing the air box filter spring? or more precisely, a method of removing and subsequently putting it back in after it's been painted without having to bend the bracket and crack the paint - Thanks

Is the spring painted or just the air box ? If the springs painted then I don't know how you would fit that without some sort of paint damage.

If you mean the one that holds the air filter in you need two strong thumbs to push the spring in and then move it round the bracket. You don't need to push both sides together. I do one side at a time. The same for putting it back.

Thanks Chaps. Yes, it was removing the spring completely from the unit I was struggling with.
I just opened the bracket up with a screwdriver and will leave it a bit baggy.
Nothing to see here

Andrew.
