Hi folks , what sx type fits best on gp chrome ring or non chrome ring ?

Sorry to be pedantic. There is only one SX headset and that doesn't have the chrome ring. The other one you're thinking of is the headset for the Special, which is shorter and was designed to accomodate a chrome ring. That aside I have seen pictures of a GP with a Special type headest and it looked okay.

This combination was favoured by Dave Webster and Charlie Edmonds on their group 4 scooters, as it lowered the handlebars by an inch or so.

Both fit,
the chrome ring will have a bigger gap between the bottom of the headset and the top of the legshields.
The non chrome ring will have a smaller gap and will look better.

I believe that virtually either kind can be made to fit by widening the slot in your forks to suit the pinch bolt position of the clamp plate, especially if you are looking to go as low as possible. If you do so in situ, mask off the area below to avoid swarf/dust wrecking your bearings.
