Hi, Iv brought a remade stand with no holes in it for the stand foot roll pin, their not the easiest to get in at the best of times! So what is the correct hole size so I can get the right drill bit?
Cheers...

Hi Nobby
Not sure of the hole size but I have read that some of the remade stands are all but impossible to drill. I've just measured an unfitted pin and it is 5.55mm diameter with quite a decent sized gap for compression

6mm.
If its a stainless steel stand, then I used 4mm pilot and 6mm main cobalt drill bits in a pillar drill with plenty of cutting compound; cut through with no problem at all, ten minute job.
If you haven't got access to a pillar drill any small engineering firm should be able to do it for a few pounds.
Instead of a pin I used a m6 bolt which screwed through the foot, and can be removed easier than a rolled pin.

Cheers lads!, yes it's stainless which needs a Cobolt drill really but Iv drilled stainless in the past and as long as you do it slowly at the right revs it's fairly easy-ish,
Ta....
And yes got a pillar drill Andie ! Cheers...
