Fitted Ancillotti Seat - remove baffle in air scoop?

Postby davla » Tue Jul 22, 2014 1:20 pm

I've just fitted a Scootopia Ancillotti seat which all but obstructs the air-intake. I'm thinking of removing the baffle in the air-scoop to improve airflow, does this sound like a good idea? It's a standard 150 Special with 18mm Dellorto.

I think that some Spanish models were made without that part, they all work.

GP 150's and GP 200's didn't have the baffles in the air-scoop presumebly to get more air into the 22mm carb.

Removing the air scoop baffle is not a problem but you may have to alter your jetting.
Just check your plug colour if you go ahead.

Yeah but the Spanish airflow is fed through the louvres in the toolbox door.

I've chopped out the restrictor/baffle thing anyway.

The later Spanish models had a kidney shape air box albeit, the hole for the intake is under the seat like my Italian GP 200.
