Speedo Woes With Outboard Disk

Postby plantphoto » Wed May 04, 2016 7:29 pm

Purchased a GP225 TS1 with Hydraulic outboard disk (not sure of make).
The speedo was not working so purchased the correct drive kit (normal GP ones don't work) and it worked fine for 10 mins !
It's all connected but still not working and wondered if the actual inner speedo cable might be different too.
Any ideas tips or advise would be appreciated.

Have you got a broken end you can push in and see if it rotates. Sometimes need to trim outer back. I flattened my drive spindle just s tad to sit the cable in tighter.

It works until I brake then seems jump out.
Wonder if inner cable is longer for these if drive/ worm are different.

Looks same as mine. ScootRS. Took me some time to get it right but it's spot on. I use a drill in reverse to check the speedo. Connect inner cable and support drill on something. I was a while verifying why both ends turned but no speedo until I cut outer and fitted new olive.
