Carb on wrong side vs cabling - any advice or pics?

Postby Donnie » Sun May 22, 2016 9:59 am

Im about to swap over the carb on the GT186 to the "wrong" side, mainly as the right side manifold means using a shorter s3 shock on the S2 and Im not liking it.

So, my main issue seems to be on fitting, where's the rear brake cable go? behind the manifold or underneath?

Thanks Dimitrios too late now anyway as Ive done it as you were the only one to reply in 6 days mate.

The only half decent reference I could find was a photo on this thread viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5154 and as it is I went a different way due to being a phbh rather than mikuni like in the pic, plus my cables were under too much tension.

Ive actually opted for some cables going over behind the carb ensuring they wont interfere with the manifold rubber when the engine pivots on the road, and some underneath the carb, behind the floatbowl in that space.
