Sound proofing side panels

Postby Kristof Lammy pie » Sun Jul 03, 2016 8:30 pm

I have some Silent coat 2mm sound proofing sheets left over from doing my T4 transporter, has anyone ever used it on the side panels? I would imagine it would stop a lot of vibrating and resonance from the thin sheets of metal.

I've done one side and it clearly adds weight but makes the panel solid with little resonance if you tap it.

A good thick coat of underseal has the same effect.

Ive just done the same on my panel. I also did the underside of the running boards and the back of the toolbox and toolbox door.
