Gori seat/airflow

Postby eyeguy » Tue Sep 27, 2016 4:45 pm

May have made a mistake. Got the gori seat that fits flat against frame. didn't realize I had to remove air intake. where will the air come from? I am trying to sort out what filter to use on my dellorto 25mm PHBL carb as I now see that the standard box wont work. Any suggestions

Thanks

drill the air box with several 10mm dia holes in the sides. 8-)

remove the airbox, fit a medium range tank, add a remote ram air filter onto your carb ;)

Hey Citydaz, is there another tank besides the original or the long range tank?

Thanks

Pal of mine fitted a slope back seat to a GP that he restored and it seriously limited the airflow under to the original airbox, so much so that when he took it to have it dynoed they couldn't get the motor to breathe cleanly as regardless of whether the air/fuel ratio was correct. The motor simply couldn't breathe enough volume of intake and he was given the option of changing the seat or the intake system. He swapped to a remote filter and the running and jetting requirement instantly changed.

I'd suggest that you have the same decision to make, change the seat or change the intake.

Adam

PS - You're not the first to make this mistake, nor will you be the last.

Hi Adam, I did order a remote filter. What if I remove the air box completely. No need for it anyway. Would this be work well.
