Petcock

Postby eyeguy » Wed Oct 19, 2016 1:39 pm

Can someone tell me if this was the original petcock. I just bought a Li 150 special. As far as I know the have always been silver in color. As you can see this is brass. Okay can't attach photo due to board attachment quota has been reached. I assume this is the sites server. So I am posting the question anyway. If possible I will post pic when able.
Thanks

The first square bodied fuel taps were made from brass, this was later changed to aluminium.

Well still can't upload photos. I've uploaded before with no problem. File is not to large as it has been resized.

It is square. So I think it must have been original. I will try again later to send pic

Petrol tap or petrol cock.

Cock is another word for a valve or tap - as in seacock - used on ships to let in seawater to the bilge for ballast or to scuttle the ship.

Its a term that Americans (in particular) use for "petrol/fuel tap"
