Painting over stainless steel?

Can this be done, are there any issues to overcome? Looking a getting a pair of S/S panels S type painted.

Cost of a pair of stainless steel panels is around what it'd cost to chrome plate a steel pair, that's if you can find a pair straight enough to chrome.

Hi Martin, just had this done to the stand and splash plate on my SX resto and my painter had them blasted first to give the paint a key. Both look good.
