I don't suppose any kind person has the measurements on a GP side panel of where to cut a hole for a carb on a rb kit as I am trimming the panels around it. Ta

Surely that depends on your manifold and as I suspect there will be more than one then you may need to specify which one. Forgove me if there IS only one.

I did my brother in laws GP with a TS1 kit fitted. I smothered the inside area near the carb with strips of plasticene and then offered up the panel to get an imprint then cut the panel with a dremel..

I have a cheap spirit level with a laser beam in the end. I took the panel off, and clamped the spirit level in a workmate and shone the laser beam down the centre of the carburettor. I then put the panel on and marked the point where the laser beam is centred. I then cut a hole in the panel around the centre point with a suitable sized cutter.

Thats bloody brilliant the wealth of ingenuity is astounding on this forum .
It reminds me of the space race story when the Americans developed a pen to work in space (gas filled or something) they spent a fortune ,after the cold war they asked the Russians how they solved the problem " simple comrade we gave them a pencil"

Sure is. Answer to everything. My problem is I'm a bit in front of myself and engine isn't even built yet. Arse about tit comes to mind. I was even thinking of getting a side on picture of one and scale ruling it off but knowing my luck it would be a mile away when I tried it

Its really tempting to try and crack on and get things done but I've learnt the hard way, I think everbody has you've just got to take your time "measure twice cut once"
I would leave the panels until your engines built .

Your perfectly right, impatience is a dangerous thing

Don't forget the your choice of rear shock will have an effect and you will also need to allow for carb movement under suspension travel, loving that laser idea Martin

Jeeper's I think I will just trim back end and leave carb behind panel.
