Stupid question but why do you date from the numbers maybe because the log book isn't available?
Would like to know a bit more about my GP manufacture date is that something you could help with?Or is there information where you can find this stuff out. Obviously plenty of stuff around on Italian Lambrettas however as my frame and engine numbers are low I wondered about the heritage.
All the frames which I date are dated because they have either never had a log book or all previous records and documentation have been lost.
All the authentications that L.C.G.B. issue are based on factory records and data that we hold.
As for your particular GP all I can say is that it is 44 numbers from the beginning of the Indian numbering sequences that we hold data for and that it was made in 1976. Just because it has a 1978 reg' doesn't mean it was manufactured that year but first registered then. I can't be more specific other than year of manufacture with an Indian scooter. Italian models, we hold much more data for and months of manufacture can be calculated for some models but a lot of it is guesswork with Lambrettas.
