I know that there should be plastic washers between the seat locking plate and the frame but should there be any type of washer between the hinged plate at the front of the seat and the frame. Series 3 LI 150 Special.

I suspect the correct answer is plain washers. However, I always use 1/2" tap washers myself. You have to open up the hole a little, but it works a treat. The difference is probably minimal, to be honest, but it has to have a little effect on vibration.

I always use the same nylon washers as the rear catch

I bought a sheet of 6mm rubber and made gaskets the same size as the seat catches. I have a side catch on the seat and it was very close to the paint work so these gaskets give it more clearance plus no washer indentations in the paint work.
