Warm-up period

Postby citydaz » Sun Feb 05, 2017 11:09 pm

From a recent post someone mentioned they gave their scoot a 10 min warm up period.
Is there a recommended time ?
2 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins?
If you give it too long will it bog down or possibly overheat?
I generally give mine enough time to take it off the choke, a then a few minutes while I put my jacket, gloves, helmet etc, lock up the garage door then off!!

Leaving the motor ticking over for 10 mins is not a great idea. Drive off as soon as started and take it easy for 5 mins.

You'll probably get a hundred different answers to this. Personally I warm it gently for a couple of minutes before I pull off and I don't consider it fully warm for a couple of miles. I actually think you can feel a cold engine and don't ever race it until it's warm.
