I cant figure out why I seem to blow a lot of rear bulbs?I've recently changed the regulator and re-done the earth connections.I've also recently put a new engine in my GP so I assuming that rules out a dodgy stator as this problem was occurring before the engine change as well.
any suggestions much appreciated!

Just for clarification, is this a 12v AC system?
Is it just the tail-light filament that is blowing?

Possibly bad Earth on the rear light to frame.

Try adding a earth wire that connects the back light directly to the engine earth and see if that cures it.

yes it is a 12v AC system and just the tail light that blows. What is the best make of regulator to get and who supplies them?

I think you need to check that earth before you spend money replacing a regulator that might be performing just fine. Look at the responses above: no one is pointing a finger at the regulator.
You can always check the output with a meter, to make sure it is not dramatically exceeding 12v.

If it was the regulator you would problems with other lamps blowing.
If you convinced it's the regulator take all the lamps out except the head light and Rev the scooter, if the headlight blows it's the regulator
Anthony Tambs sells them
