My Avanti took a severe dislike to the mountains on the way to Davos and also struggled on all the hills on the way back through Austria, Germany, Belgium etc. It was so bad on the climb up to Davos that I was down to 27 mph flat out in 2nd gear

Since getting back I have only ridden it a couple of times and it was struggling to get over 60mph

Today, I thought I'd check the carb and discovered that the throttle was only opening to 3/4

Investigation revealed that the little plate inside the throttle slide (30 PHBH) that holds the needle in place and also serves to keep the throttle cable from jumping out was out of position and was preventing the slide from lifting all the way. It took all of 15 seconds to rectify and when I thought about it I could trace it back to replacing the throttle cable at the roadside on the way down, in my haste I didn't notice that it was sticking up.....Hey ho, it goes like stink again now though
