I've used Rawl nuts for some time, but recently took them off. I fitted floating anchor nuts as they give the opportunity to use more of the full extent of the slot than the Rawl nuts due to the outside diameter of the rubber.

Rawl nuts will suit some, but if you need the almost full extent of the slot, (as I did) the SLUK items seem a better option to me.

Yes,another good idea for the bridge piece problem
You could use a bolt from underneath place a tap washer or anti vibration washer to stop bolt falling out and refit bridge piece with
stainless steel washer and dome headed nut.If bolt head turns a long bladed screw driver can be used to stop bolt turning.

I used these with pop-rivets to secure them in place:

M5 anchor nut.JPG

Remembering now that I found that M5 Rawl nuts that I have were also a bit big for the slots in my frame so I had to enlarge the slots to a shape like a key hole to accommodate them in what I judged to be the best place.

I use stainless M5 caged nuts here. Simply elongate the holes in the cross tree and make them 8.3 mm wide. This then allows the bridge piece to slide into place once you have the screws in place. Less fighting with the rubber gaskets and no burning your hands on a hot exhaust.
