Is there a reason why I get no pulse from a timing gun with a scootopia red CDI? Lamp doesn't respond at all but does on my other bike with a Ducati CDI. (Typically tried gun on second scooter AFTER ordering another timing light thinking that was the problem

)

I found this on a scooter I was working on thought it was the gun but tested on mine and it worked fine. Be interested to find out why.

Could it be the type of HT lead?

I piggy-backed a Ducati CDI on the scooter and timing gun worked fine. (Timing spot on). Could be HT lead related as stated by Rossclark as the Scootopia red one comes with the lead fitted and I saw no reason to replace it. Scooter now seems to be running okay so will see how I get on. (Famous last words!)
