Running a standard tv175 with the original MB21 BS5 carb.
The question I have is,
Could I fit a BGM V4 exhaust and a SH1/20 carburettor onto this engine with positive effect? Would the engine be underpowered for this set up?
Engine and casing has recently been overhauled with new piston,Head and bearings. It pulls really well but I feel it's being held back by the original set up.

It would likely improve performance. You'd need to re-jet your carb though. It'll probably run leaner
