I know that GP brake cams are thinner and the brake shoes are longer to compensate.
My question is are they more effective than the older style ones? Do they push the shoes more for the same travel in the pedal or is there no difference?
If not why did they change them?
If so I'm changing the one on my series 1 cos it's merely adequate.

They are longer so there is greater surface area to cause braking friction, so in theory should be more effective.
However, I've never swapped them over to see if there is a real world difference.
