Over or under engine mount????? Mine run under but the clutch is as hard as anything to operate. Currently I have all panel work off to get repainted so thought I'd take the opportunity to replace cables with friction free and want to get routing right.

Definitely under, all cables and especially the clutch as over the mount gives the chance of clutch pull when engine moves up or down.

Surely thats wrong. With the clutch cable over the top of the engine mount and you jack up the back end until the back wheel lifts,if it doesn't put any strain on the clutch cable, then when the rear shock is compressed the cable will become slacker.

I suppose it depends how much slack you've got in the cables.I've got my gear cables running under the engine mount, but my clutch cable runs over the top.

Just been browsing the latest Scootering and there's a very pertinent article about cable routing......definitely under.....it even shows the gear cables under and the clutch over, which they say is wrong and may depress the clutch when the engine moves.
