Test of Stator

Can anyone please tell me what reading or how I can test a Varitronic stator, engine keeps wanting to cut out until it gets warm then runs like a dream.
The CDi unit has been replaced which at least allowed the engine to start.
Apart from removing the resin over the wires to the stator every wire has now been soldered and earth wires are running all over the place.

Probably best to give Cam Lam a ring, the Varitronic has different readings to other stators.

What makes you think its electrical? your symptoms would suggest that its running a bit weak. Have you checked for an air leak?

Try putting the choke on when its cutting out and see if that improves it.
