Long range tank & Legshield toolbox recommendations

Postby Tim_Craig » Sat Mar 21, 2015 7:26 pm

Looking for recommendations for a long range tank, fitment, finish, longevity etc.
Also for an inside legshield toolbox, again, fitment, looks etc etc. They will be fitted to an Italian GP.

Looking for top quality items that fit with the minimum of fuss, look good & last.

I like the look of the stainless scooter products 17l Tourismo & the new Jet200 plastic tank, although this only holds 12l.

Finally who sells the stainless steel chunky type sprint racks, been unable to find a dealer with them for sale.

Appreciate any help that can be given before I take the plunge.

Thanks Tim.

The Jury's still out on the petrol tank being made of stainless steel. "Strange" deposits have been found in carb' bowls and damage to cylinders has, in some cases, been attributed to the stainless steel.

Oiltech seems a good product.

Does anyone in the UK stock the Jet tank? Or is it a case of ordering direct?

I run stainless scooter products 13 litres ( well more like 12 litres) in mine or the last 5/6 years no issues with mine after a good clean out before fitting ;)

Do these fit with the toolbox or does that have to come out?

Thanks for the links to the Jet200 tank. Good old MB! I remember Scootering saying that a version with a small toolbox cut out would follow. Not the biggest 'big' tank but certainly stylish.

12 litres is more than enough for me , if I get 10 miles per litre, around the 80/90 mile mark Its definitely time to get off the crazy thing to straighten up and stretch my legs , 120 miles is pushing it .
Rich, haven't seen one fitted but it does look like the butty box has to go to make room for it.

Thanks for the replies Gents.

Think I'll try the new 12l plastic tank.

Who supplies the Nanucci style inside legshield toolboxes, also who still supplies the chunky type stainless steel sprint racks.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks Tim.

These are good but this one is for S1 and 2. I'm sure he did some for S3 and GP a bit back. Might be worth emailing him.
