I bought a Casa SX type headlight rim thinking it would be a good fit, but it's awful. I filed it when I dry built the scoot, but I'm dreading fitting it now that the headset has been painted.

That's probably best idea, you don't have a spare one hidden under your bed by any chance :-)

Blooming mystery these rims. The casa one I got is even slightly out of shape to the headset and would need at least a couple of mil off all the way round the inside as well. The headset is an innocenti one and top and bottom fit well.

I tried a new Casa here,

I must clean and polish an original one.

Exactly same issues and the top of the rim was a slightly different shape to the headset too, I shall be on the hunt for an original one even if I have to have it re chromed

Maybe mine wasn't Casa after all then, it was a few years ago. But it was from CamLam so maybe worth giving there's a go?

I'll fit the original rim,it needs some TLC but it fits.
With the Casa rim I can only fit the 3 out of the 4 screws, not bad it could had been worse

The original

This made me think that there is also another Italian brand that makes octagonal rims, the Bossata.
Luckily,my local dealer had one in stock,
I tried it and it fits,
it is not a 10/10 but it is highly acceptable.

Cheers,
it is a friend's scooter that I'm working on the last months,
I forgot this Bosatta pic,
initially it doesn't look very good but it has great potential, bear on mind that the screws are not fully in and I haven't removed any paint.

I've also found an original one that fits like a glove but these are quite rare/expensive nowadays.

Apologies for the late reply, the one I have doesn't have the adjuster at the bottom.

Good luck with your search.

Nice,to be honest,a good original is always superior.
I used the Bosatta as the scooter is not mine :)
