Thanks. Yeah your right about the colour seems to remember Corgi doing an Aston DB5 in that sort of colour, think I buried it our back garden.

Why did we dig up the garden and bury our toys?? Weird.

It came with a black giuliari, but I quite like red Noemi Rosa.

Passed it's mot this morning, no advisories. But it typically struggled with the front brake performance.

Documents sent off aswell, hopefully it will have a registration in a fee weeks.

Having problems with hot starting, so I'm going whip the Carb off tonight check it all, think im getting spit back collecting in the elbow so might drill a hole in it to see if it's any better.

If I can't remedy this I think I'm going to change the points and carb and go for electric and maybe a Scootopia copy.

might be worth rechecking your TDC mark and your timing . What do you have it set at currently ? I've set mine to 19 degrees BTDC

Not a clue Johnny never touched it.

Going to plonk the carb back on tonight and start it tomorrow if it's still not right will look at the timing

It's one area I'm not confident on to be honest so will have a read tonight.

As the points electrodes wear over time then the gap gets smaller and the point at which the points open to create a spark gets later which gradually puts the spark closer to TDC (top dead centre) .
if the points gap has not been set for a while then this could mean that your scoot could be trying to spark at 15 or less degrees before TDC instead of 17-19 degrees BTDC.
This could have a profound effect on starting, running, performance and fuel economy.

Timing should always be checked and reset before looking at the carbs . Have you got a tool to remove the flywheel Kris ?

No, but I've just ordered one, so once it comes I think I will take the points off and go 12v electronic as the long term plan is to put a kit on it. It would have been nice to get it running nicely before I stripped it again.

Took the carb off went back to totally standard Atomiser and 98 jet and it's running like a peach! Quite nippy for a 125 too.

It's now registered so I get a chance to run it in now.

After suffering further running issues with this, Ive removed the motor and going to rebuild it with 12v kit, Gori 200 race top end, 30mm Dellorto and a gp50 Gori exhaust.

didn't know that you had had further problems :?
Its a pity about that , it would have been good to try and find the cause as you did have it running really well not so long back.

looking forward to following your engine build ;) 30mm carb sounds a little oversize from what I've been reading recently . Might be worth doing a little more research on that . There is an excellent article about the research Mark at MB Developments did on carb sizing and both Graham A Bell and the Vizard the Wizard recommend smaller venturis for better power for the 200cc .

Yeah it was a real pain, although I was told it was rebuilt 400 kms ago there were certain things that made me think it wasn't.

Ironically after splitting the side casing it looks really nice inside.

30mm carb was suggested to me by Mr Gori himself who said it was the right carb to go with the race top end.
