Not wishing to put a damper on this, but I tried to sell a running '63/4 British Tv with MOT on this forum looking for £3500....couldn't even get £2500 so may even break it! Sorry

There may be a number of reasons for that 3 spring to mind.

It's already been stated that we're all a bunch of tight arses on here.

If you are relying on the LCGB forum to be your marketplace you severely limiting your options - an awful lot of Lambretta owners aren't even LCGB members let alone being found lurking around here.

A scooter may have TV# ****** stamped on the frame but when it starts to be 'upgraded' it loses what actually makes it a TV - yours for example has lost it's DC ignition.

Yes - you're right...people like/recommend CDi but get a good one.....I also tried scootertrader....part of my problem was location! So 'taking' it to London may well be the answer.

Yes location can put a lot of people off.

I wasted a day, £150 on van hire and diesel recently - got there to find the item in question had no frame number!

I hope my experiences will be better! ;)

Bog standard TV with all 'consumables' replaced and rest refreshed. Nothing up-graded. Imported from Italy and almost rust-free except for the side panels
Still 6V and points, std engine and clutch.
Coloured seat and white walls not to everyone's taste, but so easy to change if you must.
All numbers match without question, lots of the original scooter re-used (ie stamped wheels)

Based in the West Midlands so central
Full details of the build via this forum with an extensive thread, nothing hidden.

I doubt that you'll have any trouble moving that along.

Just get it advertised - I don't think that there is any "good" or "bad" time to sell - some say the run-up to Christmas is a bad time - it's not if someone wants to gift wrap a Lambretta for their other half. :D

I think we all have a gift wrapped lambretta on our Xmas list.
Top of the list on mine every year but santa must have been told I've been a naughty boy every year so far :(

All the panels have been freshly painted in cellulose where the 'chassis' has all been powder coated the same colour.
So, if you remove all the sheet metal work (and fibre glass front mudguard) the rest is powder coated. Powder work was £500 alone!

Old side panels have been sold to a good home.

Well, only when it is gone and I can get it out of my mind.
Went to order the Black/Silver number plate locally, "wow, my Dad had one of those, all covered in lights and mirrors..." Left the local parts shop 20 minutes later.

People just love the Lambretta's, pity I can't keep it (and do the Honda). :( but I promised it will sponsor the bike over the winter.
