Stainless stands are notorious for being too long so front wheel sits up in the air, how hard can it be to make them the same length as original?

Corrados sits fine on mine, pressure just off the front wheel but not in the air.

I'm sure Corrados are fine, it's those of Far Eastern origin that seem to be the worst...

This has got to be the definitive answer to the question I think. Just look at those front wheels....

If you can't do the Lambretta Twist it's not right. :D

I bought a stainless steel stand for my Series 3. Unfortunately, it was the type that allowed the bottom of the front wheel to be about 3 to 4 inches off the ground, and it didn't have holes in it for the stand feet pins. I glued the stand feet on but I wasn't happy with it so I bought a Casa Lambretta stand from a well known dealer who advertised it as ' allows the scooter to sit at the correct height '. Indeed it did, but unfortunately the brackets on the top of the stand were welded on to the stand at 90 degree right angles. The slightest touch of the scooter and it was off the stand as it was too vertical. I wouldn't trust it, so £40 wasted. I went back to my stainless one and cut approximately 1 and a quarter inches off the ends of the stand legs with my angle grinder - they were bloody hard though !. I bought some titanium drill bits and managed to drill the holes for the stand feet pins. The brackets on this stand are welded on at a slight angle, so the stand is not as vertical as the Casa stand. I will still park the scooter with the back end pointing downhill though to keep the weight pulling it backwards. The front wheel now sits just clear of the ground, possibly a similar height to the Casa one. As the scooter has recently been restored, I'm hoping it will all 'bed in'. Pay close attention to the brackets if you're buying a new stand guys, you think you're doing the right thing by buying a quality ( Casa ) brand, but it shows once again that their parts can be just as crap as some Indian or Far Eastern rubbish.

I know you shouldnt have to with it being a new part but Couldn't you warm the brackets up and bend them back slightly that's what i do when they bend the other way and it sits too far back

I thought about that Toddy, but my vice at home is not that sturdy and I think they would probably need heating with an oxy / acetylene torch rather than a blow lamp. I will eventually do that and keep the stand for my next project. As you say though, we shouldn't have to do this. Vittorio should be making sure that any parts bearing his name are fit for purpose ( in the same way that Mark Broadhurst does ). MB were out of stock on Series 3 stands when I wanted mine, and you know how impatient we all are when we want to crack on with our restorations - especially when you only have a small window of opportunity to get out and play in the garage.

If I were you I would send the stand back to the well known dealers and tell them that it's dangerous and not fit for purpose.

I was going to do that Paul, but they recommend painting it because it's not stainless - so I painted it before fitting. I'll certainly send them an e-mail though.
