Evening Gents, after the scenario in Llangollen when I broke down and finally getting all the parts needed, I started on the replacement of parts etc....all done and still no spark.... I have changed the following..STATOR..REGULATOR..CDI and HT LEAD....there s an M TECH BOX involved and Also a SIP SPEEDO, I say this as I noted when kicking over he speedo lights up....As far as Im aware, all wires went in the correct way as I made a note .So really, everything changed as a precaution and now ....No spark as before....any ideas Gents ????

Hiya, have you tried without the m-tech? Also some stator plates don't work well with some ignition/advance retard boxes although I'm thinking back a few years here and some things are now better. I think also that there is no guarantee that even with new parts they will work. A friend had 2 cdi's go one after the other in quick succession. Have you checked the ignition lock is not the problem by disconnecting the green wire from it? I presume you have checked the stator wiring on a multimeter? Either try your cdi on someone else's scooter or borrow one that works to eliminate it. These things are always so frustrating when the engine electrics are so simple. Also just rereading your post if the speedo lights up when kicking over then the wiring is not correct unless you have put them on. Good luck

Just to rule out the Mtech, disconnect the red wire from the mtech and lug it straight into the CDI. IF that was the problem, it should start but will obviously be too advanced to ride. Before you do that though, is the mtech an new addition or was it running with it before? I ask because I'm not sure if all the switch positions are suitable for a Lambretta ignition.

The speedo lighting up is nothing to do with the ignition side of things unless you are running one of the DC ignition kits.

Thanks gents..just recapping on the symptoms before replaced the parts...it was running great on route... Then started to hold back as if running out of fuel although a near full tank...stripped card all OK...fuel coming through OK...but no spark....when I got the parts...I replaced all for new...the stator is an Anthony Tambs so that's OK..same as all parts brand new...the M Tech was already on with the bike...so it's a puzzle...I've even took the earth off the ignition switch to see if the switch may have been suspect...

I dont know if this will help but a friend had similar problem and it turn out to be a black box of tricks which was part of tbe sip speedo set up . Sorry I cannot be more specific but the box was disconnected and runs ok again.
