Stator Parts

Hi folks,
Did another daft thing the other night ......

Was swapping stators in scooters, revved the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, turned off and attached the timing gun. Kicked it over and clunk!! Locked up, tried to kick again and still locked!! Took the flywheel off and the nut had come off the cable clamp. I’d forgotten to tighten the nut :x

So BGM stator with only about 1000 miles and I’ve wrecked one of the lighting coils. I’ve had a google and can’t find them sold as spares. So, is there anyone who can mend them (Anthony Tambs?), is it worth the cost for an £80 ish stator, has anyone got a broken BGM stator would sell me a lighting coil?

Thanks
Mark

There are 2 sizes of lighting coil, the large one has about 75 turns of 1mm lacquered wire and the shorter one about 65 turns. not too difficult to hand wind.

Coaster,
I have a spare Indian one but the coils are smaller so BGM must be 75. Problem is the nut snapped the plastic lip of the coil so I can’t rewind it. Also, looks like a bit of a dark art and wouldn’t want to get it wrong.

Scooterdude,
Was price worth it and do you have contact details?

Thanks for replies both.

Mark
