Can anyone confirm the correct size for 3rd gear on an LI125 early.
Sticky lists it as 39 tooth at 97.2mm

I had trouble with this meshing a while ago, and gave up, it looked visibly too small and although the measurements checked out I gave up and swapped the gearbox and stuck this one in a box of spares.

I have just stripped another engine, with an early 125 box and the 3rd gear is 39 tooth but measures 100.3mm
All other gears measure and match with the listing.
I have no reason to believe this one has been messed with, and wondered if that is the correct size for the 3rd gear.

How many teeth do you have on the early LI125 gear cluster? On the early one it should be 9,12,16,19.It looks like yours is possibly an LI125 special which is the same as the Italian GP200 gearbox. This gearbox has a cluster of 10,12,15,18. and the loose 3rd gear is 39 teeth at 100.4

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Both boxes are clusters: 9,12,16,19.
Loose on both are: 51,42,39,35.

That shows both as LI125 early, apart from the dimensions on the 3rd gear of 2nd unmessed box.
