Li150 Special 1968 - Side panel buffer on footboard leg

Postby Big Al » Sat Mar 02, 2019 2:43 pm

I have a footboard leg RUBBER and SPRING to fit to the bottom of the right hand footboard support leg.
The inside of the side panel rests against this to stop it vibrating.
Can anyone tell me an easy way of fitting these parts please, without scraping the paint on the footboard leg?

Cut a strip off a plastic milk bottle and feed the clip over that to stop marking the paint then slide it out when the clip is fitted

Thanks. I was thinking of using something thin and metallic, like a wallpaper stripping knife, but the plastic milk bottle strip sounds a better bet.

If you are not overly precious about the original look... Hold the rubbers on with a wide tie wrap rather than the paint chewing spring clip
