Any potential issues (or advantages) connecting a DC stator in AC wiring/configuration?

Wiring is wiring. You'll need to change your horn and fit a rectifier rather than a regulator and either a battery or a capacitor. Other than that there's no real problem.

As above but bare in mind that iff you elect to fit a battery, the lights and horn will be live when the ignition is turned off. No real bother tbh but people could fiddle and play with the horn unless you fit an isolating switch. I have never bothered and never had any bother.

Or just ground one of the 2 yellow output wires from the stator and it becomes an ac stator.

Don't forget you will have to replace all your lamps with DC ones, the ignition switch and loom for a DC one and make sure that any battery you fit is DC

I have gone down the DC stator route which for the time being I shall be running AC until I can swing the other way!

PS where can I buy DC lamps?

You can’t ac/dc all the same just make sure it’s 12v

Sorry, I'm confused. Are you saying that you've bought a DC stator and want to convert to full DC? I thought you meant you had a DC stator but wanted to retain your AC system?a

In the light of helpful advice on here and elswhere I have bought DC and am currently using it in AC mode with the option to swing to DC/Wassell if and when I get the time!
