Hydraulic switch unit - S3 onto S2

Postby Norrie Bodge » Mon Oct 07, 2019 10:09 pm

Has anyone used a S3 type hydraulic brake switch unit On a S1/2 ?

This is for a mate who gotta winter S2 project & With the S1/2 being of a larger diameter
he’s asking can we use the hydraulic brake setup off his 83 Spanish LI ?

Has anyone did this ! as We believe it’ll need machining or reaming out to fit so which is the best way forward...

Cheers

As you say it will take some fettling to fit due to the tapers , you can buy the housing seperate without the master cylinder then attach his master cylinder the rest of the brake should fit ok .

Before the glut if SSC, ScootRS and Spaq master cylinder mounts there was the MBR one, they were made originally for italian bars.
I pain stakingly opened one out by hand to fit Indian larger bars.
If theres enough meat on it, cant see why not.
As said what price is a S2 one (40 quid) against your time and potential to cock it up.
Use all the other parts and sell tbe S3 mount
