Have you put the signal settings to INT and not EXT ? INT = speedo cable , EXT = external pickup .

Have you set it so the digital needle reads speedo and not revs and have you got the right size speedo cable I can't remember if it's the Italian or the Indian size one

I'm looking at buying one of these in the new year. What actually comes in the box and will it work straight off the loom? Or is dc trickle via a battery the ideal?

You get the speedo ,power box and and the connector and temperature sensors with the extension wires and mine work of ac, but it sometimes it restarts itself at low rev when l press lights, horn but will sort that later with an inteliconver if l can get the speedo itself to work

Technically, these products are designed to work from a stable DC power source. Certain dealers may well refute any warranty if they know it has been connected up otherwise!!!
Before resigning to sending it back as faulty, try connecting the power box directly to a battery. You can simply use a 9v pp3 battery if you haven't got a bike battery to hand.
