Never learn

I always swear I will never build another bike up from just a frame. Buy a complete bike I always say to myself. Do I listen. No. Back from painters, always do a dry build, frame straightened but only thing I didn't have on dry build was headset. It went straight to painters. Don't need to dry fit a headset do you now. First annoyance legshields need a 7mm packer at bracket to take them back to being something like level with back of headset. No problem. Then headset doesn't go far enough down, steering lock hits stop on frame. Grrrr. Ah, I will hacksaw 10mm off stop. Sorted. Should have removed legshields first, nah plenty of room. Nup. Chipped paint. Happy scootering.

If its a series 3,dont forget they had a chrome ring(before late 1965)and then made up for the chrome ring by having a longer headset.

Nowt wrong with a bitsa. My favourite I've ever owned is my li bitsa. Kind of shit but that appeals to me.

Nor do the economics of lambretta ownership concern me; it's financial stupidity.

Best thing to do is never learn.
