As per title - anyone using one of these backplates to convert a standard inboard disc brake to hydraulic.Any feedback aprreciated, are they easy to set up and more importantly do they work,any noticable improvements over a cable operated disc brake https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174225016095

I've not used a SPAQ one but if Martin Corrado sells them I would trust them (he sells the complete ones) I had one converted years ago and it made a significant difference to me stopping. It didn't stop the scooter being stolen. For that you'd need something else
Resurrection scooters are a good company as well. I've never had any problems buying or returning stuff.

There are a few variations out there, I have one wich has had the housing machined away to allow for a slave cylinder held in place by 2 bolts and works fine. I have another that I picked up from somewhre that is similat but has 3 bolts. Ive also seen them made to fit in place of the mechanical mechanism held in place by the original circlip and others that have a threaded exterior that screw into a machined and threaded housing.

My brake still needed setting up carefully and needs to be re-adjusted from time to time as the pads wear but it works well
