Rear Light - 3 x festoon bulb type

Postby Granty » Fri Apr 17, 2020 10:29 pm

Got a replacement rear light bulb holder, it's the one with 3 festoon bulbs required, 1 for the light & 2 for the brake I think. Anyone know what length of festoon bulb fits in this? I got 3 festoon bulbs from the same supplier but they're massive, 38mm in length, not sure what size they should be for the bulb holder. Anyone know? - cheers G

I think they are 30mm but why not give the supplier whose photo you have posted a call to confirm. I use them a lot and they are very helpful.

Scooter Restorations sell 30mm and 38mm festoons , top tip use 6v for the brake light and they are nice and bright :D

Will do, dropped them an email and will follow up, just wondered if there was an obvious one here. Thanks, G

Basically your putting twice the power through the bulb so it will be brighter , it's ok for brake lights as they are only on for short bursts but if you used a 6v as a tail light it would blow quite quickly
