Series 3 side panels

Did the early LI series 3 panels have a tube for the side panel handles? I seem to remember having these on a 64 LI125 I once had, but I don't know if it's just my imagination.

not sure why they stopped putting the tube in.. however, for those without a tube, a quick make do and mend is a 15mm copper tube cut to length and araldited in...
