MPH and KPH Speedos

I've got two original Veglia Series 3 speedos. I think one is MPH and one is KPH. Looking at the mechanism, can anyone say definitely which one is which? Thanks.

Series 3 clocks variants had a fullscale deflection indicating
60MPH (100kph) typical for a 125
70MPH (120kph) typical for a 150 / 175
90MPH (140kph) typical for a 200
The speedo cable turns at 1610 revolutions per mile (1000 revolutions per kilometer) for all machines. So the internal gearing ratio of the clock mech is different for each full scale.
Nothing to do with it being kph or mph.
hopefully an adult will be along shortly to inform you which of the 3 you have.

Use a battery powered drill in reverse,which ever is the fastest is the kph one.

^^ Thanks for your replies. I might be wrong, but the needle can be removed to calibrate speed, my query is more about the mileometer bit and whether it's recording miles or kilometers.

I would have thought the larger cog one was the mph one as the revolution would make the numbers move slower than the smaller cog

Turn the speedo drive 1000 times. If the odometer moves on by 1 Km then it's foreign.
If it takes 1610 turns to move it on by 1 digit then it's domestic.

Black is miles, no colour is KM,
The only difference is the black upright drive and the amount of teeth on the corresponding gear on the end of the milometer.
KM one had 16 teeth and the Miles one 22 I think.

Many thanks for that. Do you know if a KPH upright drive/corresponding gear can be removed and replaced with their MPH counterparts?

One on left is MPH. The black drive and cog is the telltale sign. They can be converted between MPH and KM by swapping these two parts, at least on Vegila speedos (uncertain about CEV speedos).
