Noticed last year on a couple of runs I could go about 5 to 10 miles running ok then it would loose power and backfire then take off again.
Once the engine would not stop revving till i switched it off then ran ok again on restart.
Is it down to cdi problems or carb or fuel flow.
I Stripped the carb last year cleaned and checked jets but still played up before wrapping it up for winter. Be nice to sort it ready for when we can get out again.

Any or all of them plus the likelihood of an air leak....

Presumably you have checked the obvious things like tank cap breathing & spark plug grade/gap/ seal/tightness in head?

Just starting to work my way through the more obvious bits before stripping down too much, so may do spark plug first and work my way back. I did a plug check late last year and it looked near perfect, bloody weather needs to warm up so I can get in the garage without freezing.

Follow up on this in case it helps anyone,,, just happened to mention this to a mate who said his had symptoms similar a while ago, it was fuel flow the scoot still had original fuel tap that was more dribble than flow, changed to fast flow (also drilled out the original too so it flowed better for a spare)
Took out for a good run and no problems happening now.
