Can anyone please help me understand what this switch does?

The switch on top is low/high beam. The button is the horn. I just can’t work out the third switch. Tried to google it and looked in sticky’s book, but no luck.

Did the series 2 (1961) come with these switches as standard or is this an aftermarket one? (I googled the pic, but my scoot has a very similar one)

Only ask as I assumed my scoot doesn’t have any indicators. I believe it’s still running on the original 6v set up too.

The switch circled is high/low beam. The top switch has 3 positions and is to go between main Headlight, lights off and Side light. It would be similar as standard but that looks like a cheap copy that I would avoid if possible. The S2 wouldn’t usually have indicators as standard although some European variants did.

The big switch on the front is the one were you switch from sidelight to mainbeam straight up is off.The one that you have circled is the dip switch.

I was trying all the buttons the other day and couldn’t notice the difference with that switch circled, which is why I assumed it didn’t do anything. Today I tried it again holding the revs up as it makes everything brighter with a mirror in front and noticed the difference.

Everything seems to be working on it other than the brake light when using the front brakes....next on my to do list.

The duck horn is hilarious.

It's unlikely the front brake is wired in to activate the brake light at all unless it was added later.

As far as I'm aware the standard setup is only for the back light to illuminate from the brake pedal.

In that case everything’s working. I’ll attempt my first ride around the block tomorrow.

No indicators, no brake light......hmmmm, the wife already thinks I’ve lost the plot.

I take it you haven't ridden a Lambretta before? You should have a brake light, but only on the back brake, the thing to bear in mind (especially if you're use to motorbikes) is the brakes on a std lammy are quite antiquated so require careful use until you work out your stopping potential. You'll soon get the hang of it.

Never ridden one before. Only saw it with engine running when I bought it. It hasn’t been on the road for about a year. I’ve gone from an R6 to a ‘61 series 2.....Love it though.

Yes they're great fun and very addictive I bought my first one in 79 and have owned them ever since!
