Are they a recent additiion to the available choices (AF/SIP) & does anyone have any experience of using them...? Explanation, generally being financially compromised I don't even bother trawling through stuff I can't afford

They look exactly the same as the FA Italia tubeless rims, either BGM have re-branded them or copied the design, the former would get my vote. I've sold AF, Sip and FA. Imo the FA are not as well finished as the Sip ones and their main benefit is that they have 8 holes so suitable for Casa Octopus rear hubs and Casa disc brakes, though both products will fit to normal 4 stud pattern. Pretty much on a par with the other 2 brands price wise. The FA ones are also quite a bit lighter than the Sip ones. Suspension technology talks about the benefit of "un-sprung weight", ie lighter wheels being better, but I'd only imagine that could have any real world benefit to the BSSO racers. You still need to replace your hub studs too with the BGM / FA rims.

'We' (all two of us) bought into SIP rims for BSSO racing purely as a safety/finishing races puncture free measure back in 2012.

Although they were 'illegal' as only the AF rims were approved, we personally would never use the AF as they are not centring rims on the hub. That is a fact. Debate all day as to whether relying upon the four M8 fastenings to centralise the hubs on the rims if you like, but we believe the SIP rims were the better choice.

The shortcomings of the SIP are that they offset the tyre to the left. That doesn't appear to have caused any problems &, if anything, it appears to be of no concern to those that buy certain 'uprated' rear hub bearings.

I'm not being Devil's advocate, but I would look into the offset that the new rims have, if any. That is, besides the centring method mentioned above. All things being equal, my choice would be on centring method, offset & lastly, cost.....

BGM copy someone else product.... Never...
